I love efficiency, particularly when it tastes good. Cleaning out the fridge today and aging herbs make great simple syrups.

Rainy? Who cares! It’s not 20 degrees and freezing. Time to suite up!

Time, for a moment, to respect the history and lineage of the scooter! Mine is new, or relatively new, but doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the classics!

There are (at least) 2 categories of bottles on my personal bar: Stand-alone drinks, and cocktail ingredients. Often times, a bottle services as both. For example, I could easily drink Gran Clasico straight, but also primarily use it as an ingredient for cocktails. Occasionally, a bottle finds its way to my shelf that only falls in one. Today, that bottle is Fidencio Clasico. Some souls braver than I will whole-heartedly disagree, and insist on the pleasures of sipped mezcal. I, on the other hand, am less likely to do so. That doesn’t mean a small barspoon of Fidencio won’t completely change the nature of a cocktail, though.

So apparently scooter colors are recycled, because the color of this bike looks an awful lot like the old color on the Bobby Caples Vespa sitting in the garage!

Quite excited to start mixing with this latest addition to the bar. Suze has been around for a while and is only recently available in the US. My first taste locates it somewhere between Campari and St. Germain, which makes it quite versatile, though I’ll be interesting to see if it can play nicely with others.
